Solna is growing

Solna is growing. There are new districts, more inhabitants and more businesses. This growth is taking place on historic ground referred to in documents since the early 1300s.

Solna is fantastic place for business. The city offers a dynamic market with over 8000 businesses of various sizes and in numerous sectors. Solna has everything from large multinational corporations to small newly established firms, from high-tech companies to service companies.

Solna has a large labour market with approximately 66 000 people employed here. From a national perspective, the employment level in Solna is high and unemployment low.

Solna is a city that has experienced strong growth. In 2008, our population grew by just over three per cent, which was the largest increase in Sweden in proportion to the size of the population. This development is also expected to continue. By 2025, it is estimated that the population of the city will increase from just over 65 000 to 80 000 inhabitants.

Solna is a fantastic environment in which to live, with a unique proximity to both the pulse of a major city and the tranquillity of the National City Park. There is a large housing market offering attractive housing units. The housing market is also growing steadily and Solna is one of the municipalities in Sweden where the most new housing is being built.
